This song features Gackt on piano and You on violin, a duet combination that (especially live) is dreamy and pretty.

I didn't bother translating the word sayonara.

Sayonara
Music and lyrics by Gackt C.
English translation by !Super Cat

Sayonara . . . my love
Tears change into cold snow
Sayonara . . . I was crying until yesterday
Then I quietly closed my eyes

You casually brushed past me
And leaned against the window
Acting a little bit shy
I was laughing
I lightly kissed your cheek
And for a long time after you walked away
I looked after you

Sayonara . . . my love
Tears change into cold snow
Sayonara . . . I was crying until yesterday
Then I quietly closed my eyes

At a little table
With just our dreams . . .
We werenÂ’t afraid of anything
Not even the future
When I opened the first photo album
I saw you looking happy

Sayonara . . . my love
Nothing's left but my feelings for you
Sayonara . . . I was crying until yesterday
It's a quiet night, isn't it . . .

Translator's notes:   Sayonara is the Japanese word for goodbye that is used only at final partings.  It means "goodbye forever."  There is no equivalent in the English language.

Further notes:  I love Gackt, but I should note that the line sayonara taisetsuna hito (goodbye my love), is one of the most commonly used lines in Japanese songs, especially if you include the variations, sayonara daisukina hito (goodbye my love) and sayonara aishita hito (er, goodbye my love).  However, the beauty of this song is in the simplicity of the lyrics that follow, and if you're a sucker for the romantic stuff, this song hits like a sucker punch.
